801 Racing
Topeka, KS – After an early exit from the Houston race, the Maddern Racing Team were given a homework assignment. Their task was to head back to the shop and work on their race car. It sure beats calculus or writing a twelve page essay on African tree frogs. This weekend at Heartland Park Topeka, they will present their findings to the class, the Top Alcohol Dragster class that is.
“I am looking forward to going fast,” said Maddern Racing driver Chris Demke. “The boys have been working hard on the combination, and I am confident the car will respond.”
801 Racing’s Day Wins NitroJam aboard Candies & Hughes Funny Car
Port Allen, LA - It’s not every day when you get a phone call asking if you would like to drive a Nitro Funny Car for the weekend. That’s just what happened to 801 Racing driver James Day last week. Here he was wondering when would get a chance to drive again, and low and behold the call came in. The regular driver for the Candies and Hughes Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car was unable to make the IHRA Nitro Jam event and they needed someone to fill in. Day didn’t have to think twice. To make things even sweeter, Day and his new teammates went out and won the race.
Baytown, TX - Chris Demke and his Peen Rite Top Alcohol Dragster are heading down to Texas to start another winning streak. A semi-final loss at the Vegas National event stopped a 2-0 start to the year. A few weeks off provided the time needed to freshen things up on the Peen Rite/801 Racing entry. The confidence from those wins at Pomona and Gainesville are still with the Team.
Orem, UT - When asked how to respond to inquiries regarding Thursday’s fire at 801 RACING’s facilities 801’s general counsel said to simply state this fact, “801 RACING is really beginning to heat up!”
Las Vegas, NV - The final round of the Vegas Regional has been delayed. Not the greatest of news to Chris Demke and Jim Whiteley. The two racers were paired up in the Top Alcohol Dragster final, but a errant piece of paper had other ideas. Just as the cars were approaching the finish line, something disturbed the timing lights. So the race was put on hold until the third round of qualifying at the SummitRacing.com NHRA National event this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Demke and Maddern Racing play the right tune to Gatornationals Victory
Gainesville, FL - Chris Demke and his merry band of brothers did it again. The Maddern Racing Team not only repeated as event champs at the Gatornationals, but they also went back to back at National events. The sweet supercharged music from the Peen Rite/801 Racing Dragster had everyone doing the winner’s circle dance.
Phoenix, AZ – Momentum is defined as a strength or force gained by motion or by a series of events. After taking the Top Alcohol Dragster win in Pomona, Chris Demke and his Peen Rite Team are bringing that momentum into the Regional race at Firebird Raceway this weekend. The Regional event in Phoenix is the first in the newly formed racing series that replaced the divisional system.
“It allows us to go to more national events, which is good for us,” said Demke. “It also means more competitors.”
Pomona, Ca - Johnny Ahten doesn’t need a slide ruler or protractor to know how to tune his Nitromethane Injected Top Alcohol Dragster. He does rely on the people that support him and the Ahten Racing Team. This past weekend, at the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals, Ahten did get closer to the tune up he is looking for.
“We are inching away at the tune-up,” said Ahten. “We just didn’t compensate enough on Saturday to make past that round.”
Chris Demke and 801 Racing Team Up for Winternationals Win
Pomona, Ca – Chris Demke, driver of the 801 Racing sponsored dragster, capped off a team effort in winning the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals this past weekend. Demke not only won the trophy, but in the final round, he ran the quickest elapsed time of the race with a stout 5.28 @ 270 mph.
“It was a great win, and having the guys from 801 Racing there made it even better,” said Demke. “I am very happy to be continuing our relationship with 801 Racing and to be running the Revvolution Oil with CleanBoost Technology.”
Pomona, Ca – Cody Perkins and the 801 Racing Top Alcohol Dragster Team did quite a bit of fighting at the Winternationals. Not fisticuffs mind you, but there were battles a plenty.
